Fire Hits Four Houses in Kemayoran Gempol

A fire broke out on Wednesday (4/17) at aroumf 1.20 PM in the residential area, Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, RT 09/03, Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran. No casualties were reported during the incident.

It was allegedly triggered by electrical short circuit

15 fire trucks from the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) were deployed to extinguish the blaze.

"We also deploy 75 firefighters to the scene," expressed Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Fire and Rescue Section Head, Ahmad Syaiful.

South Jakarta Fire Agency Promises Optimal Service

He explained the first personnel arrived at the location at 1.26 PM and immediately took action. However, the large amount of flammable material meant that extinguishing took time and it was only around 1.48 PM that the fire could be localized.

Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Head, Asril Rizal explained the fire gutted four houses. Locals stated the fire came out from the middle room of one of the houses. Then, the fire grew and spread to other houses nearby.

"The total area affected reached 100 square meters and resulted in five households with 16 people losing their homes," he explained.

He added the fire was fully extinguished at around 3.18 PM.

"It was allegedly triggered by electrical short circuit," he closed.
