Channel Dredging on Jalan Gunung Balong Raya Completed

Dredging of water channels located on Jalan Gunung Balong Raya, RT 11/04, Lebak Bulus Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, finally completed.

Hopefully, it will minimize flooding in the future

Cilandak Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Yansori said the dredging was conducted to prevent inundation on the roads caused by overflowing waters from the channels.

"This is a must, as the mud and garbage have touched 30 centimeters high," he expressed, Monday (4/22).

Kebon Sayur Water Channel Dredged

He explained as many as five personnel of PPSU were deployed to dredge the channel along 70 meters with a width and a height of 60 centimeters.

"It was done manually in March 2024 and was completed yesterday," he explained.

During the dredging, on average, 10 to 15 sacks of mud sediment and garbage were removed in one day. Hence, he also urged residents to maintain the cleanliness of the channels by not littering.

"Currently, the channel capacity has increased. Of course, hopefully, the channels can be more optimal in preventing flooding," he added.

The work received appreciation from one of the residents, Agus (51).

"Hopefully, it will minimize flooding in the future," he stated.
