East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, led the harvest of four tons of Tilapia fish from a nutrition pond owned by residents on Jalan Bambu Kuning No. 3, RT 01/02 Bambu Apus, Cipayung, Wednesday (4/25).

According to him, Tilapia cultivation on approximately 2.1 hectares of land was managed by residents who are members of the Al-Ikhlas Farmers Group. They are synergizing with Bank Indonesia and the Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency (KPKP) to procure fish seeds.
"This is the first harvest. The fish harvest is planned to be sold to the market," he expressed.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharin Eliawati uttered the initial steps taken by the Al-Ikhlas Farmers Group were very good because they could produce four tons of fish. Hopefully, it could inspire other farmer groups in Jakarta.
She added this 2.1 hectare land could be used as agro-tourism for the community. Because it is quite extensive and there are still many that have not been used optimally for other agricultural activities.
"Hopefully, in the future, it can be even more advanced and bigger. Including future fish food needs, it can also be done independently," she concluded.
