Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture (KPKP) Agency held integrated food supervision at six traditional markets in East Jakarta, Thursday (4/25).

The targeted markets are Palmeriam, Ampera, Jatinegara, Cawang Kapling, Pramuka, and Rawamangun.

Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Agency's Sub-Group for Consumption Diversity and Food Safety Affairs Head, Solihin, the food commodities sampled were agricultural and livestock products.

"In this monitoring activity, 131 samples were collected and tested, consisting of 101 agricultural samples and 30 livestock samples," he said.

He added that all samples were examined on the spot in laboratory cars placed at the Palmeriam Market consisting of agricultural laboratory cars and livestock laboratory cars.

As a result, all of the 131 samples tested were found to be free from additional dangerous substances such as formaldehyde, chlorine, residue, pesticides and eber/rot.

"It means people do not need to hesitate and worry about meeting their food needs," he added.

Solihin continued that the agency keeps cooperating with Perumda Pasar Jaya, specifically the managers of each market so that they are involved in carrying out supervision.

Moreover, the agency will also carry out monitoring at vegetable and livestock centers outside the city accompanied by the local food agencies.

"It is aimed to ensure and keep the food that will be supplied to Jakarta is healthy and safe," he stated.
