Petamburan Urban Village Head, Rian Hermanu, said this control was carried out following complaints from residents because the park, which is about three meters wide and 1,000 meters long, has been used as a location for storing junk goods and chicken coops.

"Indeed, there are unscrupulous residents who use it to place junk goods and poultry cages. It shouldn't be," he said.

Rian added that the use of park land violates Jakarta Regional Regulation number 8 of 2007 concerning public order. Apart from causing the environment to become slum, land occupation by unscrupulous residents also disrupts the function of green open space as a means of public social interaction.

In the future, Riad admitted will cooperate and request local RW caretakers to educate residents for not occupying green lane at West Flood Canal (KBB) riverbank at RW01, 03, 04, and RW 09 of Petamburan Urban Village.

"We also cooperate with related regional working units regarding with broken public facilities," he added.

Meanwhile, RW 04 caretaker of Petamburan Urban Village, Agus Supandi, appreciated the controlling initiated by urban village side. He admitted that RW caretakers have reminded residents not occupy the area and maintain the cleanliness.

"The cleaning has made the area looks cleaner," he stated.
