Stove Explosion Triggers Fire in Lubang Buaya

A stove explosion was allegedly burn a house on Jalan Veteran, RT 01/07 Lubang Buaya, Cipayung, East Jakarta, Tuesday (5/7) morning at 6:15 AM.

The fire was extinguished in 35 minutes

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Operation Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman, admitted the house owner was cooking in the kitchen and forgot to put off the fire. It made the fire bigger and burned the surrounding materials.

"It was allegedly caused by stove explosion. But it still being investigated by police," he said.

He added that his side deployed one fire truck and three personnel.

"The fire was extinguished in 35 minutes. There is no victim caused by the incident," he added.

Meanwhile, Lubang Buaya Urban Village Head, Dede Syaipullah, explained based on the residents' report, it was known that before the incident the owner of the house was boiling chilies for trading purposes.

Because she had to take the children to school, continued Dede, the house owner forgot to unplug the gas cylinder, so a leak occurred and the fire burned down the entire building covering an area of ​​more than 100 square meters.

"There is a possibility of a gas leak and hot air resulting in a fire from the gas stove," he continued.

According to him, his side deployed PPSU and Satpol PP personnel to assist cleaning fire debris after police has finished the investigation.
