Three Boats Catch Fire in Muara Baru, No Casualties

Some 65 firefighters from the North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) put out a fire that razed boats in Muara Baru, RW 17, Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, Monday (5/6).

We send 13 fire engines and 65 firefighters to the scene

North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Gulkarmat Sub-agency Picket Officer, Dede Budi stated the extinguishing process was still ongoing until this morning, as there was a re-ignition of the fire.

"We send 13 fire engines and 65 firefighters to the scene," he expressed.

Eight Firetrucks Handle Fire on Jalan Swadaya II

He explained the boat burning incident occurred at around 2.47 PM with the suspicion that the fire occurred when the boat was loading and unloading fish and the freezer engine was on, then there was a huge explosion in the cooling engine.

"To find out the exact cause of the fire, this morning, the police will investigate the crime scene," he stressed.

He added fire burned three boats in this incident. They were namely KM Rezeki Melimpah 18, KM Bahari, and KM Rezeki Malindo.

"No casualties and injuries in the incident," he said.
