The event, recognized as one of the largest travel and tourism exhibitions in the Middle East, takes place from 6-9 May 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates.
ATM Dubai is known as a premier platform for meeting and networking among tourism and travel industry professionals from around the world, introducing new products and discussing the latest trends.
The event is expected to attract more than 39,000 professionals from 150 countries, allowing Jakarta to expand its reach, and strengthen international relations.
Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head, Andhika Permata, said this is part of a strategy to increase international tourist visits to Jakarta, as well as to achieve targets set by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
These targets include increasing visits from Middle Eastern tourists, strengthening domestic economic recovery, and creating 4.4 million jobs by 2024.
"Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry to participate in ATM Dubai 2024. It is aimed to attract 93 to 143 million visit of foreign tourist to Jakarta this year," Andhika said as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Wednesday (5/8).
Andhika added that it also to marketing Jakarta as a recreational tourism destination, expanding good relations with global markets, and widening business networks between Jakarta tourism business actors and the international community.
The hope is that it can make Jakarta as the main tourist destination for Middle Eastern residents. On this occasion, the Jakarta tourism industry is also involved, consisting of five tour operators/travel agents and three hotels, namely Marintur Indonesia, PT Nusa Ina Leisure Indonesia Specialist, Fokus Indonesia Tours, goIndonesia.tours (PT Indonesia Tur Arabia), Destinesia Sentra Wisata, Swiss Bel Hotel International, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, and Gran Melia Hotel Jakarta.
These eight co-exhibitors are ready with a variety of tour packages tailored for the Middle East market. Focusing on recreational tourism with main packages for the Thousand Islands and the new destination Pantai Indah Kapuk, as well as sports tourism, especially golf.
