PPSU Personnel Clean Water Channel at Kembangan Selatan

As many as 35 PPSU personnel were deployed to clean water channel and its drain at several areas at Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-district, West Jakarta.

Kembangan Sub-district Head, Joko Suparno, said there are seven water channel cleaned by the personnel. Those are Jalan Haji Sariun RT 08/01, Kampung Centiga RT 01/01, Jalan Haji Misar RT 06/03, Kembangan Baru Complex RT 07 and 08 RW 03, Banggeng Alley RT 13/03, Moneter Complex RT 05/03, and Jalan Haji Briti RT 02, 04, and 05 RW 06.

"The cleaning is carried out since the areas are prone inundation during heavy rain," he said, Saturday (5/25).

Kembangan Selatan Urban Village Head, Pradana Putra, admitted personnel cleaned the water channel and its drain from waste. The waste then collected and transported by using three motorcarts and one pickup car.

"It is hoped the local residents will maintain the channel cleanliness," he hoped.

Meanwhile, similar activity was also carried out by PPSU personnel on Jalan Haji Jairi, RT 01/02, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district.

Rawa Buaya Urban Village Head, Junaidi, stated the cleaning targeted 10 spots of 500 meter water channel.

"The cleaning was run to respond local residents' request," he stated.

Around 10 PPSU personnel were deployed to clean the water channel from waste. Personnel also dredged the channel mud by 20-25 cm to smooth the water flow.

"It is hoped the water will flow smoothly after this," he hoped.

Moreover, RT 01/02 Head, Rokidin, appreciated the cleaning run by PPSU personnel of Rawa Buaya Urban Village.

"It makes us less worry since the channel has been dredged. It should be no inundation during heavy rain," he said.
