Seribu Island Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency has given anti rabies vaccine for 101 pets on Kelapa Dua Island, Kelapa Island Urban Village, Seribu Utara Island Sub-district.

Seribu Island Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency Acting Head, Rita Sri Lestari, said 50 male cats got anti rabies vaccine, and 51 female cats sterilized during the mobile program.

"We collaborated with Let's Adopt Indonesia by involving the following three veterinarians and three paramedics," she said, Tuesday (5/28).

Rita added that vaccination and sterilization are important to free Jakarta from rabies while controlling the pets population.

"This vaccination and sterilization is provided free of charge with the aim of ensuring that both the animal and the owner remain healthy and the quality of life of the pets remains optimal," she added.

According to her, controlling the cat population is important. It aims to maintain Jakarta's rabies-free title.

Meanwhile, Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, supported the program well.

"Sterilizing and vaccinating pets has a good impact not only on the human environment but also on the health of animals," he stated.
