C. Jakarta Administration Optimistic to Win National Proklim

The Central Jakarta Administration is optimistic its four RWs in three sub-districts are able to win national climate village program (Proklim) 2024.

Verification and assessment will be held on June 13-14

Central Jakarta Secretary's Economy and Development Assistant, Bakwan Ferizan Ginting, said four RWs to run verification and assessment are RW 01 of Gambir Urban Village, RW 06 of Petojo Utara Urban Village, Gambir Sub-district, RW 12 of Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, and RW 03 of Cikini Urban Village, Menteng.

"Verification and assessment will be held on June 13-14," he said, Tuesday (6/4).

Ginting added, Central Jakarta previously had two RWs with national proklim predicate; RW 06 Kebon Melati Urban Village, Tanah Abang and RW 06 Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran.

Moreover, RW 03 of Cempaka Putih Timur also won national Lestari Proklim predicate last year. According to Ginting, this achievement is the result of continuous structuring carried out in the Central Jakarta area.

"So if we maximize the results we will definitely get appreciation. We are optimistic that the results can be optimal," he added.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head, Slamet Riyadi, admitted Proklim is held to overcome the impact of environmental problems. Therefore, his party has educated the four RWs regarding mitigation, adaptation and institutions in an effort to overcome climate problems.

Related with mitigation, Slamet stated has educated the four RWs to reduce the use of environmentally unfriendly materials, reduce the volume of waste by managing and processing waste.

Then, they were also educated to adapt by making infiltration wells and biopores, as well as establishing BPS RW and waste banks.

"We hope that the training that has been carried out will get maximum results," he stated.
