57 Vehicles Participate Free Emission Test in North Jakarta Mayor Office

North Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head, Edy Mulyanto, said the emission test is held to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5, as well as Jakarta's 497 Anniversary on June 22.

Edi explained that this service is an implementation of Governor Regulation (Pergub) No 66/2020 concerning Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emission Tests.
The vehicles tested for emissions consisted of 40 two-wheeled vehicles, 16 petrol cars and one diesel fueled unit.
"A total of 10 two-wheeled vehicles failed to pass the emissions test. We recommend carrying out regular vehicle repairs and maintenance so that it passes the emissions test," he added.
He continued that the agency also will hold similar program at urban village and up to RW levels. It means residents will be easier to conduct emission test.
"We already have mobile emission test units and ready to visit residents," he continued.
According to him, public awareness of carrying out emissions tests is quite high. More than 51 percent of the population has carried out emissions tests in North Jakarta.
Meanwhile, one of vehicle owners, Tri Kurniadi (58), admitted happy since his vehicle passed the test.
"We know our vehicle condition with this test. I appreciate it much," he said.
