Local Tax Policy Socialized to Residents of Jakarta and Seribu Islands

The North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Regional Revenue Sub-agency held counseling and dissemination of regional tax policies to taxpayers.

It was attended by more than 250 residents from North Jakarta and Seribu Islands. There were four speakers from Jakarta Bapenda I Tax Revenue Division Head, Mulyo Susongko; Tax Revenue Division II Bapenda Head, Jimmi Rianto Pardede; Jakarta Bapenda's Regulations and Draft Legislation in the Regulatory Sector Analyst, Widi Nofiarto; and Jakarta Bapenda's Regional Taxes and Levies Analysist, Koko Karyono.

North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim said it was hoped that this would increase taxpayer awareness so that regional tax revenues to finance physical and non-physical development would be more optimal.

"We appreciate and thank you for your presence. Thank you for your contribution to the development of Jakarta," he expressed, at the location, Yos Sudarso Hall, North Jakarta Mayor's office, Thursday (6/13).

He explained he said as much as 60 percent of regional revenue came from taxes. The results of this tax collection were then returned to the community in the form of financing for physical and non-physical development projects such as roads, water channels, lighting, and social assistance.

"Achieving regional tax revenue is largely determined by the level of awareness and compliance of taxpayers in fulfilling their obligations," he explained.

Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency Vice Head, Elvarinsa urged taxpayers to take advantage of the elimination of sanctions for regional tax arrears, both urban and rural land and building tax (PBB-P2) and motor vehicle tax (PKB).

"The abolition of sanctions was implemented to welcome Jakarta's 497th anniversary. We want this policy to help taxpayers to be tax compliant," he closed.
