Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section Acting Head, Kamil Salim said the emission test was held to help reduce air pollution in Jakarta caused by motor vehicle exhaust pollutants.

126 Vehicles Undergo Emission Tests in North JakartaHe explained it was held from 8 AM to 12 PM. Around 17 vehicles underwent the emission tests. Of 17 vehicles, one four-wheeled vehicle fueled by petrol, two four-wheeled vehicles fueled by diesel fuel, and 14 two-wheeled vehicles.
It was done to realize the program of Jakarta Langit Biru or Blue Sky.
"Thank God, all passed emissions tests. In the future, we will keep intensying emission tests. We're not only targeting private vehicles, but also official operational vehicles," he explained.
One of the vehicle owners, Devina (26) admitted her vehicle passed the emissions test because she had regular routine servicing.
"Thanks for this free emission test. This is very helpful to know the condition of the exhaust gas produced by the vehicle," she closed.
