15,000 Runners Enliven JAKIM 2024According to Acting Governor Heru, the Jakarta Provincial Government can gain many benefits by holding sporting events like this. One of them is sports tourism.
"This event must continue to be held. Firstly, to promote Jakarta, MSMEs can increase, hotels can be full and so on," Heru said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.
This is the second time the LPS Monas Half Marathon has been held. He hopes that this year's running competition, which will be held to coincide with the 497th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta, will be safe and comfortable for runners.
To create a safe route, Acting Governor Heru said that his party continues to evaluate so that this year's event will be even better. The security of this route has been previously coordinated with the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda), the Jaya Regional Military Command (Kodam), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub). Officers were alerted at several vulnerable points such as road intersections.
Apart from that, the Transportation Agency and Satpol PP also continue to synergize with the Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) and the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) to make the 2024 LPS Monas Half Marathon a success.
"Jakarta Provincial Government supports events like this," he added.
