15,000 Runners Enliven JAKIM 2024

Around 15,000 runners from within and outside the country participated in the Jakarta International Marathon 2024 (Jakim) on Sunday (6/23). It is an annual sports routine held to welcome Jakarta's 497th anniversary.

The total prize is Rp 3 billion

The competition opened by Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, started from the North West Silang Monas Area, Gambir, Central Jakarta, and finished at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah explained the participants in this run were divided into three categories: the 42K marathon starting at 4 AM, the 21K half marathon at 5.15 AM, and the 10K marathon at 6.15 AM.

According to him, this prestigious international event was to raise Jakarta's profile in the eyes of the world as an active and dynamic city. It was in line with the big theme of this year's city's anniversary "Jakarta Kota Global, Berjuta Pesona" (Jakarta, a Global City, Millions of Charms).

"There were more than 50 cheering cultural arts along the route. Hopefully, it can increase the runners' enthusiasm towards the finish line," he explained.

He continued they would cross 35 Jakarta roads that were sterilized from motorbikes.

"We also prepare 16 alternative routes for people who will access along Sudirman-Thamrin," he added.

Here are the routes of today's marathon in Jakarta: North West Silang Monas - Jalan Merdeka Barat - Jalan Merdeka Selatan - Jalan Merdeka Timur - Jalan Perwira - Jalan Lapangan Banteng Barat - Jalan Lapangan Banteng Selatan - Jalan Dr. Wahidin Raya - Jalan Gunung Sahari - Jalan Budi  Utomo - Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara - Jalan Katredal - Jalan Ir. H. Juanda - Jalan Veteran - Jalan Veteran III - Jalan Merdeka Utara - Jalan Merdeka Barat - Jalan MH. Thamrin - Jalan Imam Bonjol.

Then turn around Taman Imam Bonjol - Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto - Jalan H. R. Rasuna Said - Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya - First U-Turn - Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya - Jalan H. Rasuna Said - Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto - Jalan Imam Bonjol - Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - Jalan Pattimura - Jalan Pattimura Underpass - Jalan Sultan Hasanudin - Jalan Iskandarsyah Raya - Jalan Prapanca Raya - U-turn at Brawijaya Hospital - Jalan Prapanca Raya - Jalan Iskandarsyah Raya - Jalan Sultan Hasanudin - Jalan Underpass Pattimura - Jalan Pattimura - Jalan Sisingamangaraja.

As for the Half Marathon, the route taken was North Weste Silang Monas - Jalan Merdeka Barat - Jalan MH. Thamrin - Jalan Imam Bonjol - turn around at the Red Light Intersection - Jalan Imam Bonjol - Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - Jalan Pattimura - Jalan Underpass Pattimura - Jalan Sultan Hasanudin - Jalan Iskandarsyah Raya - Jalan Prapanca Raya.

U-turn at the roundabout in front of the South Jakarta Mayor's Office - Jalan Prapanca Raya - Jalan Iskandarsyah Raya - Jalan Sultan Hasanudin - Jalan Underpass Pattimura - Jalan Pattimura - Jalan Sisingamangaraja.

U-Turn at Asean MRT Station - Jalan Sisingamangaraja - Jalan Jend. Sudirman - Jalan Gatot Subroto - Gate 8 GBK - Jalan Apex - U-Turn - Jalan Apex - Gate 8 GBK - Jalan Gatot Subroto - Jalan Pemuda Gate - Gate 10 GBK - North Plaza Door - Ring Road GBK - Yellow Door Stadium - Main Stadium, Bung Karno's Gelora - Finish.

Meanwhile, the 10K Run, started from North West Silang Monas - Jalan Merdeka Barat - Jalan MH. Thamrin - Jalan Imam Bonjol - Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - Go up to Semanggi Roundabout - Jalan Gatot Subroto - Jalan Pemuda Gate - Gate 10 GBK - North Plaza Door - GBK Ring Road - Yellow Door Stadium - Main Stadium, Gelor Bung Karno - Finish.

"The total prize is Rp 3 billion, including one housing unit for the runner who successfully breaks the national record," he said.
