South Jakarta Prepares Two Convergence Actions to Accelerate Stunting Reduction

South Jakarta Administration is arranging plan to increase the implementation of integrated nutritional interventions in the context of implementing eight convergence actions to accelerate stunting reduction in 2024.

to increase the coverage of intervention

South Jakarta Administration Secretary, Ali Murthado, said preparing activity plans is the government's follow-up in realizing the results of recommendations from the situation analysis.

"This plan will contain programs and activities of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to increase the coverage of intervention services and activities to increase the integration of interventions at the city level in the current year or the next year," he said, Monday (7/1).

BBPOM: Food Safety is Important to Prevent Stunting

Ali hoped that program or activity plans can be identified to increase the coverage and integration of nutrition interventions in the current year and the plan year, including comparison with the results of the previous year's Activity Plan.

"The results of this activity plan also complement situation analysis data as material for stunting consultation activities at the city level," he added.

Ali stated that it will be possible to identify and evaluate the coverage of interventions which are still low so that the coverage can then be increased by carrying out this stunting convergence action, and how to continuously achieve convergence between OPDs in accelerating stunting reduction in South Jakarta.

Efforts to prevent stunting require integrated implementation of nutritional interventions in priority locations and target groups. To achieve this integration, it is necessary to align planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and control of activities across sectors as well as between levels of government and society, especially in the South Jakarta Administration.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta City Development Planning Board Head, Ahmad Saelani, explained the stunting prevalence rate for South Jakarta in 2023 reached 16.6%, or higher compared to 2022 which reached 11.8%. This means that there is ineffectiveness in planning activities to prevent stunting.

Therefore, added Saelani, efforts to prevent stunting are needed with integrated implementation of nutrition interventions in priority target locations and groups, so that planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and control of cross-sector activities are needed.

"Hopefully these two action activities can bring blessings, so that they can contribute to realize the city of South Jakarta towards zero stunting," he stated.
