Anwar Inspects Phase Two Revitalization of Pekayon Reservoir

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar and his staff inspected the second phase of revitalization of the Pekayon Reservoir at RT 08/02 Pekayon, Pasar Rebo, Tuesday (7/2).

This reservoir is also useful as a place for community interaction

According to him, the reservoir revitalization is a continuation of last year to overcome inundation in the RW 01, 02, and 03, Pekayon Urban Village areas. Aside that, this reservoir would also be equipped with a hut, fishing area, and waste water treatment plant (IPAL).

"This reservoir is also useful as a place for community interaction, therefore residents must take part in caring for and maintaining it," he expressed.

Anwar Inspects Reservoir Construction in Cipayung

At the entrance to the reservoir, a sales area would be prepared for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) yet they are prohibited from selling along the reservoir.

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Development Section Head, Tengku Saugi Dzikri explained  the reservoir area reaches 1.7 hectares, which is divided into a wet cross-sectional area of ​​one hectare and 0.7 hectares for the jogging track area.

It is built in three budget years and is currently in its second year. Currently, construction progress is 49 percent.

"It has been ongoing since March 28 and is targeted for completion on October 23," he explained.

He explained the reservoir is built five meters deep with a water capacity of around 41,000 cubic meters. It is equipped with four inlets to connect four connecting channels from residential areas and one outlet for discharge to the water channel.

"In this second stage, work continues to build a 600-meter-long jogging track area. Further, it will be equipped with 10 huts, two children's playgrounds, and one outdoor gym. Then there are bird ornaments and other supporting facilities," he closed.
