According to Joko, this sheetpile damage causes the Angke River to often overflow when it rains. As a result, the surrounding area became inundated with varying water levels.
"It is hoped the area will be free of inundation after the sheetpile is improved," he added.
Kembangan Sub-district Water Resource Implementer Unit Head, Mulyadi, stated the sheetpile improvement is started on July 13, 2024 by involving 10 personnel and it is targeted to complete in a month.
"Repairs are carried out by excavating the soil at the damaged sheet pile point. Next, it will be covered with concrete castings so that it can withstand the volume of water," he stated.
