Four Vehicles Fail Emission Tests in Kebayoran Lama

Four out of the 43 vehicles tested for emissions at the Ahmad Yani Football Field, Kebayoran Lama Selatan Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama Sub-district, South Jakarta were found to have exhaust emissions that exceeded the specified threshold.

Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section Head, Kamil Salim said emission tests were held targeting operational service vehicles (KDO), private vehicles belonging to employees, and those belonging to the public.
"This is according to Gubernatorial Regulation number 66/2020 on Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emission Tests which aims to monitor the threshold emissions emitted by two- and four-wheeled vehicles," he expressed, Thursday (7/18).
Emission Test Held at Kelapa Island Urban VillageHe detailed, the vehicles that successfully passed the test were 18 petrol four-wheeled vehicles, 12 diesel-powered four-wheeled vehicles, and 13 motorbikes.
"Four gasoline four-wheeled failed the test and we urged them to do a routine service," he explained.
He added vehicle emissions contributed to the decline in air quality. Hence, vehicle owners were expected to undergo emissions emissions regularly.
"We have to support efforts to improve air quality in Jakarta because it is also very important for health," he added.
One of the vehicle owners, Abdurahman (46) admitted his motorbike passed the emissions test because he followed the government's recommendation to regularly service the vehicle before carrying out an emissions test.
"Of course, I'm no longer worried about the condition of my motorbike," he closed.
