"It is important to ensure children become wise internet and social media users. They need to check the correctness of the information, while maintaining ethics and language. Apart from that, choose positive and useful content," Heru said through a video message during Child Expression Festival 2024, at Dufan, Ancol, North Jakarta, Thursday (7/18).

Heru also advised Indonesian children to become intelligent and enthusiastic individuals. He asked them not to hesitate to dream.

Child Expression Festival 2024 held by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection together with Jakarta Provincial Government was participated by 1,000 participants from representative of children forum in 38 provinces, children of Jakarta and representatives of specific groups of program beneficiaries.

This activity, which was part of the celebration of the 40th National Children's Day, was attended directly by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy and the Minister for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Minister PPPA) Bintang Puspayoga.

With all the sophistication and opportunities offered by the internet, Bintang emphasized that there is a big responsibility to use technology wisely and responsibly.

"However, unfortunately, not all children can take advantage of technological developments optimally," he said.

Bintang added that there are also many cases of internet abuse by children, such as addiction to gadgets and online games. In fact, a lot of children's personal data is spread and children are exposed to violence and economic and sexual exploitation.

"Therefore, all of us, both children and adults, need to join hands to improve digital intelligence to become a digital stronghold in the online realm," he explained.
