City Administration - PPPA Ministry Holds Children's Expression Festival in Dufan

The Jakarta Provincial Government and Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry (PPPA), held a Children's Expression Festival at Dunia Fantasi, Ancol, North Jakarta. It was attended by 1,000 children from Jakarta, including representatives from Papua.

People's Welfare Acting Assistant, Suharini Eliawati said it is a series of peak celebrations for the 40th National Children's Day which will be held in Papua, July 23.

"This is very important. We must broadcast this activity. How do we facilitate vehicles so they can express themselves," she said, Thursday (7/18).

According to her, the stages of building a superior generation are not only about children, but must start from young women. Their health will have a big influence on the child they will give birth to.

To them, the Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) had given them blood-boosting pills as a routine program, in anticipation of potential anemia due to menstruation.

"The mother's health has a big influence on the child being born. Therefore, we are trying to intervene by giving regular blood-boosting pills to young women," she asserted.

Besides physical health aspects, she emphasized the importance of maintaining mental health. Moreover, the current development of the virtual world has the potential to cause internet dependence and addiction in children.

Hopefully, all parties play a role in encouraging children to continue to hold physical activities and socialize together, in order to grow physically and mentally.

"The concept isn't just being physically healthy, exercising and consuming healthy food. But, lifestyle must also be considered," she explained.

Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Control Agency (PPAPP) Head, Mochammad Mifhullah Tamary explained that so far the Jakarta Government has supported children's growth and development through various programs in a number of regional government organizations (OPD).

He asserted that until now, his party has also facilitated various programs at RPTRA to support children's growth and development

"In Jakarta, there are a total of 324 RPTRAs, one of which is designated as a means for children's growth and development," he stated.
