LRT's Main Elevated Line for Velodrome Station - Rawamangun Starts Connecting

The work progress of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B construction continues to experience positive deviations. As of the 42nd week or as of July 14, 2024, has reached 22.4 percent. Thus far, the main work progress has been underway for the upper structure, especially for the first kilometer.

Hopefully, the train can carry 80,000 passengers every day

LRT Jakarta Phase 1B PT Jakpro Project Director, Ramdani said foundation or sub-structure work and also some upper structure work were underway for another 5.4-kilometer area.

"In total, 44 pier or column points have been erected and 41 pier heads or column heads have been installed. Progress on the first kilometer is a priority because of the milestone test track planned for September 2024," he expressed, Friday (7/19).

Train to Apocalypse on LRT Station, Be There!

He explained the viaduct or main elevated line for the LRT Jakarta train is almost completely connected in the first kilometer from the existing station, namely Velodrome Station to Rawamangun Station, which is the first station towards Manggarai for phase 1B of the LRT Jakarta Project.

"The slab deck or floor plate as well as the parapet or walls of the viaduct have been made on girders that are suitable to bear the load. Work on the track or train tracks has now started," he explained.

PT Jakpro's Technical and Development Director, Dian Takdir explained the Jakarta Velodrome - Manggarai LRT project is targeted to operate in August 2026.

She explained progress monitoring continues to be conducted internally and externally by stakeholders for the smooth running of the development.

"All interested parties participate in monitoring the progress and development of the project, thus the results are good and on time as expected," he explained.

He added the line built in Phase 1B is 6.4 kilometers long and there will be five stations, namely Rawamangun Station, Pramuka BPKP Station, Pramuka Market Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station.

"Hopefully, the train can carry 80,000 passengers every day," he stated.
