Seribu Islands Abnon Gears Up to Boost Sustainable Tourism

I will work together to prioritize tourism in Seribu Islands

The pair Muhammad Hafidz and Raden Ayu Kamila Faras Aulia succeeded in winning the title of Seribu Islands Abang None (Abnon) 2024. They beat dozens of other finalist participants at the Kabupaten Plaza, Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, South Seribu Islands, Friday (7/19) night.

They said they were ready to synergize with the government to realize sustainable tourism development, especially in Seribu Islands. Moreover, the Seribu Islands is part of the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) which must be improved.

"I will work together to prioritize tourism in Seribu Islands. In the future, I will also attract more foreign tourists to come," he expressed, Sunday (7/21).

He believes Jakarta has its own charm, such as the natural beauty of the Seribu Islands which has reached the international level, including Betawi culture which is part of the rich culture of the Indonesian nation.

He would like to thank all parties and his parents who have always accompanied and prayed for him until he won the Seribu Islands Abnon competition.

"Grateful and proud. This is the beginning of my journey in pushing the Seribu Islands as part of the Global City. I will also bring the good name of the Seribu Islands at the provincial level later," he hoped.

The same statement also came from the None winner, Raden Ayu Kamila Faras Aulia. With this success, she would try to protect Jakarta's marine resources, especially Seribu Islands.

"One of them is by preserving mangrove forests which have an important role in protecting soil erosion due to water," she explained.

Seribu Islands Regent, Juanedi hoped that they would support the development of the Seribu Islands on Panggang Island in terms of tourism and economic center for business.

They were also expected to represent the Seribu Islands again at the province level.

"This development will have an impact on the welfare of the Seribu Islands people in the future," he closed.
