Tuberculosis (TB) Village was launched already. It is hoped that this will increase joint action to prevent and treat TBC properly.

South Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Yudi Dimyati, said the launching is aimed to reach TBC elimination in 2030.

"TB Village will provide education, socialization, and TB disease campaigns to residents starting from symptoms to treatment," he said, Wednesday (7/31).

The TB Village, which consists of environmental administrators, cadres, health workers, and related cross-sectors, also identifies suspected TB cases to assist in providing treatment assistance. So that in the future, there will be no negative stigma related to TBC in the area.

"We're glad with any support given to quickly handle TB in 65 urban villages in South Jakarta," he added.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Administration and Community Welfare Assistant, Sayid Ali, appreciated the launching of TB Village in order to handle TBC.

"We are simultaneously launching the program today because there has been a Governor's Decree and Mayor's Instruction to jointly carry out TB control so that the target of eliminating TB in Jakarta can be achieved," he stated.

Ali appealed heads of sub-district, urban village, community cadre, health personnel, and other sectors to cooperate in handling TB well and report any indication of TB disease in the community.

"It is also hoped they will be able to invite private company's CSR to join in TB handling," he said.
