Rupiah price per kilometer follows the price-forming components

Transjakarta Corporate Secretary and Public Relation Division Head, Tjahyadi, said Transjakarta applies a fair system to all operators in issuing policies. Transjakarta also has fulfilled all applicable procedures and rules.

"The determination of the Rupiah price per kilometer follows the price-forming components in accordance with the provisions," he said, Wednesday (7/31).

Several Routes Not Operating, Transjakarta Sends More Fleets to Serve Mikrotrans Customers

Tjahyadi explained that the funding for the public transportation system in Jakarta run by Transjakarta comes from the Public Service Obligation (PSO) Fund which is allocated for the comfortable and accessible transportation services.

"The subsidy is not for Transjakarta or the operator, but to serve the community in meeting their mobility needs," he explained.

He stated that opening new routes or adding services to fleet mobility is done through systematic studies and adjusted to the needs of the community. It will be a waste of budget if it is beyond the needs.

This step is part of the implementation of good corporate governance (GCG), completeness, validity of data to administration is a must as accountability for the use of subsidy funds.

"Therefore, any deviations will be dealt firmly in accordance with applicable regulations," he stated.

According to him, Transjakarta also applies a merit system to operators covering aspects of quality, cost, and delivery. Competition between operators is encouraged in order to provide quality services, competitive prices and timely fleet provision.

"Each operator must be ready to compete independently," he continued.

In addition, Transjakarta served 280 million customers in 2023, 49 percent higher compared to the previous year. This is a picture or benchmark of the services that Transjakarta has successfully realized.
