Pramuka Market will Be Connected to LRT Jakarta

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, inspected the Pramuka Market which will soon be revitalized, in Palmeriam Urban Village, Matraman, East Jakarta, Friday (8/2).

The concept will be connected to the LRT

The market, which is known for selling medicines and medical devices, will be updated and connected to the LRT Jakarta.

"We are here looking at the revitalization plan for Pramuka Market. The concept will be connected to the LRT. So, the Director of Pasar Jaya and Jakpro have conveyed that," he expressed, as quoted by the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

LRT's Main Elevated Line for Velodrome Station - Rawamangun Starts Connecting

He explained the current construction of LRT Jakarta Phase 1B is underway, which connects the Velodrome and Manggarai.

"The fastest route that can be used is Velodrome-Pramuka. While making the structure to Manggarai," he explained.

Further, he apologized that here was a shift in vehicle lanes which caused traffic jams during the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B construction process, including on Jalan Pramuka.

"Therefore, to the entire community, I apologize the construction on the Pramuka route is experiencing traffic problems. Hopefully, we can finish it soon. For the Pramuka route, this year's conception has been completed. Hope traffic can return to normal," he added.

The revitalization of Pramuka Market, which is connected to the LRT Jakarta, was welcomed by the Pramuka Market Pharmacy Association.

"We welcome it, as the market has been established since 1984. This means that structurally we realize that the suitability of the past and present must be different. Of course, comfort also changes, security also definitely has a big influence, especially in mechanical-electrical structures," uttered Pramuka Market Pharmacy Association Head, Edy Haryanto.

Traders at Pramuka Market also support this revitalization. He said, traders want Pramuka Market to be better.

"So, when Perumda Pasar Jaya wanted to revitalize it, we proved that during four months of socialization, 100% of traders had agreed and signed the approval list," he stated.

Not only that, his party also supports market revitalization without disturbing the buying and selling process. Suggestions from traders regarding temporary relocation can also be fulfilled by Perumda Pasar Jaya.

"It will be temporarily moved to the 2nd floor, which is now a parking space. This means that the revitalization process does not interfere with traders' buying and selling processes," he explained.

One of the Drug traders, Indra welcomed the revitalization, considering the addition and improvement of facilities in the market.

"We welcome the revitalization, we are very grateful. We heard that there would be improvements to facilities, such as rolling doors, hydrants, tiles being laid out, and essentially repaired without changing the original place where we sell. (During revitalization), we will still be able to sell, just on different floors," he admitted.

On the same occasion, the Jakarta Government also held cheap basic food supplies in the Pramuka Market parking area. As many as 1,000 basic food packages were sought by residents around the market.

For your information, inflation in Jakarta in August was recorded year on year at 1.97%. This means that inflation is very controlled and in good condition. Acting Governor Heru also thanked all stakeholders, the community and BUMD who helped control inflation in Jakarta.
