Fire in Galur Burns Resident's House

An electrical short circuit caused a resident's house to catch fire, located on Jalan Rawa Tengah, Gg 5 RT 10/05, Galur Urban Village, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, Thursday (8/8) morning.

No casualties in the incident

Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Asril Rizal expressed his personnel received the fire report at around 6.23 AM.

"We immediately deploy 19 fire engines and 95 firefighters to handle it," he stated.

He went on to say that they arrived at 6.30 AM and successfully put out the flames at 7.30 AM or 50 minutes.

Fire and Rescue Section Head, Ahmad Syaiful added the fire destroyed a two-story house.

He added the incident was first discovered by the homeowner's child when he/she woke up and saw sparks on the ceiling of the house. Shortly after, the fire grew bigger and burned down the 18-square-meter building.

"No casualties in the incident," he closed.
