JITEX 2024 to Support Local Products to Compete in Global Market

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, opened the Jakarta International Investment, Trade, Tourism and Small Medium Enterprise Expo (JITEX) 2024 at JCC, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (8/7) night.

Heru said JITEX 2024 is Jakarta Provincial Government's effort to put Jakarta a level with other global cities through strengthening the global economic network that is able to attract capital, goods, Human Resources, ideas and information globally.

"MSME actors are able to promote their product locally and internationally through this event, as well as support Jakarta as center of tourism; Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE); and local product export trade," Heru said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

Heru also appreciated MSME actors who already promoting their products to international market. He also appreciated Association of Indonesian Shopping Center Retailers & Tenants (HIPPINDO) as Jakarta Provincial Government partner in providing this event.

"It means local producers must be able to increase their quality based on international standard. Also thanks to HIPPINDO and other associations for cooperating in providing this event," he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Regional Secretary's Economy and Financial Assistant, Sri Haryati, admitted JITEX is one of the strategic steps to realize Jakarta's vision of becoming a Competitive Global City. JITEX is expected to become an exhibition center that will be visited by buyers and investors from within and outside the country, especially in the investment, trade, tourism, and MSME sectors.

"This also makes Jakarta a tourism center by supporting Jakarta as a Global MICE city, as well as increasing tourist activities for culinary tourism, shopping, and typical Jakarta tourism. Then, it can also realize Jakarta as a center for export trade of local products and MSMEs to realize Jakarta as a Global City with Millions of Charms," Sri stated.

JITEX is held from Wednesday (8/7) up to August 11, 2024. It is participated by 315 participants of business matching, Regional Owned Enterprise, joint venture, fashion, culinary, home living, creative, manufacture, MSME, automotive, cooperative, and tourism.

JITEX 2024 also invites various stakeholders, buyers, investors, ministries/organizations, associations. They are from India, Malaysia, Poland, Philippine, Thailand, Laos, and Hongkong.
