57 Kiosks in Jatibaru Demolished

Because of standing on the drains and triggering flooding, dozens of kiosks owned by street vendors in RW 02, Jalan Jatibaru X, Kampung Bali, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, demolished by 400 joint personnel, Sunday (5/3). Those personnel consist of Satpol PP, Jakarta Transportation Department, Jakarta Cleanliness Department, and police.

We have demolished 57 kiosks. Then for the owners, will be relocated to Tanah Abang Block G Market

The demolishment went smoothly and conducively without protest from the owners.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede said it is compliance with Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama (Ahok)'s instruction, where he wanted a number of public and social facilities to be re-functioned as before.

"We have demolished 57 kiosks. Then for the owners, will be relocated to Tanah Abang Block G Market," told him.

To anticipate similar thing, some personnel will be sent to guard the site. "We send our personnel to anticipate the vendors to sell again," he expressed.
