Jakarta Table Tennis Contingent Targets Three Gold Medals at PON XXI

Jakarta Table Tennis men's and women's athlete teams are targeting to win three of the seven gold medals up for grabs at National Sports Week (PON) XXI Aceh - North Sumatera 2024.

I'm sure they are capable of winning as many gold medals as possible

Jakarta Indonesian Table Tennis Association (PTMSI) Chair, RBJ Bangkit admitted he was optimistic about presenting the best for the Jakarta contingent at PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024.

"I'm sure they are capable of winning as many gold medals as possible because they have previously participated in a series of training both at home and abroad," he expressed in a written statement, Wednesday (9/4).

Jakarta Table Tennis Manager, Wahyudin stated his party was targeting at least three of the seven gold medals being competed for at PON XXInAceh - North Sumatra.

"It is in accordance with the real capabilities of athletes who have participated in the qualifying rounds and the Training Center (TC) in Thailand some time ago," he explained.

He explained the three gold medals that would be won in table tennis came from women's singles, women's doubles and women's team.

"Men's singles and doubles and men's teams also have the opportunity to win gold. Because, in BK yesterday, they got silver," he explained.

PON XXI's Jakarta Contingent Chief de Mission, Fatchul Anas uttered the athletes, coaches, and managers of the Jakarta table tennis team must give their best to the people of Jakarta.

"Build togetherness and leave behind unnecessary things to achieve success. I'm optimistic that the Table Tennis team will be able to win as many gold medals as possible at PON XXI," he said.
