Area Arrangement on Untung Jawa Islands Being Optimized

The Seribu Islands Regency administration is about to arrange the area on Untung Jawa Island, South Seibu Islands in order to support Jakarta's transition into a global city.

We'll draft the design in October 2024 and construction will begin in 2025

Seribu Islands Deputy Regent, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan said the plan for the development of the area on Untung Jawa Island had been agreed upon together with the regional apparatus organizations (OPD) in Seribu Islands, through the signing of a commitment.

"We'll draft the design in October 2024 and construction will begin in 2025," he expressed, Thursday (9/19).

He explained it is proof of the active role of the Seribu Islands Regency administration in realizing Jakarta as a global city. Moreover, the Seribu Islands has great potential with diverse marine biota that can encourage investment opportunities.

"It also encourages the Untung Jawa Island region to become more advanced. Moreover, this island is the closest to the mainland of Jakarta," he explained.

He added the area arrangement on Untung Jawa Island included the construction of a multi-purpose field, a Pinisi Park landmark, a Pinisi ship sculpture, a green open space area, a gazebo, road repair, and construction of a stilt house in Pinisi Park area.

"Related OPDs must monitor and support this development to make it run well, optimally, and transparently," he stressed.

The arrangement above received appreciation from Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan.

"This is also very much needed and desired by the people of Untung Jawa Island because it can have a positive impact on improving the economy," he said.
