Kebayoran Lama Sub-district Water Resources Executing Unit Inspector, Hendy Rinaldy said today's water channel normalization is a follow-up to residents' proposals to prevent flooding.
"After receiving the proposal, we will continue with a review of the location. Then, we will continue with the normalization work stage," he expressed, Tuesday (9/24).
Water Channel on Jalan Teluk Gong NormalizedHe explained the 113-meter-long water channel normalization was carried out by dredging mud and garbage, as well as replacing the channel retaining wall with an 80x80 centimeter box culvert.
According to him, its normalization involving eight personnel has been ongoing since August 2024 and is targeted for completion by the end of this month, which aims to anticipate flooding in the rainy season.
"To speed up it, we send two excavators for lowering the box culvert," he explained.
The work received appreciation from a resident, Toro (49). Besides being able to return the water flow to normal, this water channel was also expected to make this area free from flooding.
"Hopefully, it can run smoothly and can effectively anticipate flooding," he said.
