East Jakarta to Boost PBB P2 Tax Revenue

The East Jakarta administration is set to maximize the collection of rural and urban land and building tax (PBB P2) until the end of this year.

We urge taxpayers to immediately pay off taxes

To date, the East Jakarta PBB P2 achievement has only reached Rp 990 billion or around 74.52 percent of the target set at Rp 1.3 trillion.

East Jakatrta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar asserted that to boost tax revenue starting October, his party would monitor and evaluate (Monev) every two weeks. He also urged urban village and sub-district heads to participate in collecting debts by collaborating with local RT/RW administrators.

"The monitoring and evaluation of PBB P2 acquisition must be changed to every two weeks and I will lead it directly. Because it is due in November. This is to find out the progress to accelerate the achievement of PBB P2 target acquisition," he expressed, Monday (9/30).

The suboptimal tax revenue is due to several factors, he assessed, there were still many companies, including BUMDs, that had not paid taxes. Hence, billing should be done as soon as possible.

Tax Collection Sub-Division Head, Bernarso admitted the PBB P2 revenue was not yet optimal because many taxpayers were not yet compliant in paying on time. Therefore, his party would collect the debt both persuasively and actively.

"We urge taxpayers to immediately pay off taxes. For PBB P2, there is still time to remove the sanctions if the payment is made by the end of November," he explained.

He also asked for assistance from urban villages and sub-districts to collect debt intensively, at least by helping to hold outreach to their residents. Hopefully, if the socialization was success, tax revenue would be maximized.

From the current PBB P2 revenue by Rp 990 billion, the highest income from Pasar Rebo Sub-district is Rp 42.7 billion, Matraman Rp 28.7 billion, Makasar Rp 99.3 billion, Cakung Rp 325.3 billion, Kramat Jati Rp 148.8 billion, and Duren Sawit Rp 66.2 billion.

Then the lowest income were from Jatinegara Sub-district Rp 73.6 billion, Polugadung Rp 114.1 billion, Ciracas Rp 53.7 billion, and Cipayung Ro 37.2 billion.

Based on data at the provincial level, East Jakarta's achievement is indeed the lowest compared to other regions. In North Jakarta, the target is Rp 2.4 trillion achieved Rp 2.2 trillion or 92.5 percent, West Jakarta Rp 1.5 trillion achieved Rp 1.3 trillion or 88.2 percent, Central Jakarta from the target of Rp 1.7 trillion achieved Rp 1.53 trillion or 85.5 percent and South Jakarta target Rp 3.4 trillion achieved Rp 2.6 trillion or 75.5 percent.
