Sheet Pile on Jalan Pegangsaan Indah Barat Elevated

The Kelapa Gading Sub-district's Water Resources (SDA) Implementation Unit, North Jakarta, elevated the connecting channel's sheet pile on Jalan Pegangsaan Indah Barat I, RW 16, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village.

Hopefully, it can minimize flooding when it rains

Kelapa Gading Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Acting Head, Slamet Riyanto said the elevation was conducted to anticipate water overflowing from the connecting channel of Jalan Deposito.

"This is done because flooding often occurs during the rainy season," he expressed, Tuesday (10/1).

Repair of Sheet Piles on Jalan Pedurenan Masjid IV Completed

He explained it was done on the north and south sides of the channel each 79 meters long. The channel is about two meters wide.

"Previously, this sheet pile was 60 centimeters high from the water surface with a width of 30 centimeters. Then it was added to a height of 50 centimeters, so the current height is 1.1 meters," he explained.

The work has been ongoing since September 10, where the progress has touched 45 percent. Hopefully, it could be done in mid-October 2024.

The work above received appreciation from one of the residents, Keisha (30).

"Hopefully, it can minimize flooding when it rains," she hoped.
