24 Cats in Pasar Manggis Sterilized

Some 24 cats in Pasar Minggu Urban Village, Setiabudi Sub-district, were successfully vaccinated by the South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP).

Hopefully, it can be a routine agenda by targeting more local stray cats here

Livestock and Animal Health Section Head, Irawati Harry Artharini said the animals vaccinated are pure local cats with the requirements of being at least eight months old, in good health, not pregnant or breastfeeding, and fasting for at least eight hours before being vaccinated.

"Afterwards, they are then returned to the original location," she expressed, Friday (10/3).

She detailed, vaccination was successfully conducted on 10 female cats and 14 male cats. It aimed to control the population and maintain the health of cats. It was realized in collaboration with South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency with Vet Furries Veterinarians, Jakarta Cat Lovers Community, and Bunda Astrida Cat Room.

"It will be a routine agenda, both for local stray cats and those kept by residents," she stressed.

The vaccination received appreciation from Pasar Manggis Urban Village Head, Purwati.

"Hopefully, it can be a routine agenda by targeting more local stray cats here," she said.
