City Council Leaderships Focus to Solve Jakarta Problems

Five leaderships of Jakarta City Council for 2024-2029 periods took their oath on Friday (10/4).

for the sake of best output for Jakarta residents

Right after completing the council's equipment in the near future, Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin said the leaderships will focus on completing various problems in Jakarta.

"Traffic jam, flood, unemployment, problems with education and health services are my main focus to be solved," he said.

Khoirudin added resolving Jakarta's various latent problems can not be done in a minute. It requires process, support and collaboration from all parties.

Moreover, he will also pursue the ongoing process of 2025 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) drafting. It means the budgeting can be attempted through a pure process, not an amendment.

"The drafting deadline is on November 30. We'll try to finish it in mid November," he added.

In the 2025 City Budget, Khoirudin explained, his side will prioritize issued related to education, flood and congestion. He admitted, regarding the education issue, many of residents reported that they were not facilitated by the zoning system due to the limited number of state schools.

His side, he continued, had conducted study and held discussion with Education Agency. Services for Jakarta residents will be the same for those who study at state and private schools.

"Free school program has been listed in the City Budget. Then we're still studying the KJP for the sake of best output for Jakarta residents," he stated.
