Prevent Illegal Street Vendors, City Will Guard Monas Entrance

Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will guard all access entrances of National Monument (Monas) in Gambir, Central Jakarta to prevent illegal street vendors (PKL) enter the culinary food area in Lenggang Jakarta.

The guard will be provided by Jakarta Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives Agency (KUMKMP) and Monas Management Unit (UP) before Lenggang Jakarta inauguration in early June 2015.
Jakarta KUMKMP Department Secretary, Irwandi said, the guard is intended to prevent the mixing of illegal street vendors with 329 trained vendors who will sell at the location.

He continued, PT Sosro as the Lenggang Jakarta management and funder of corporate social responsibility (CSR) will also help the guard in Lenggang Jakarta area.
"PT Sosro will also deploy officers to prevent Illegal Street vendors enter to the location," he added.
He revealed, as many as 329 trained vendors who will sell at the location has been verified because they meets all requirements.
"We have verified 329 vendors and we re-check them many times by see the Identity Card (KTP) and Family Card (KK)," he told.
Moreover, he continued, to anticipate stalls or kiosks sale, his side will give Jakarta Card (J-Card) of Bank DKI as their saving accounts and membership card. Every day, they will be charged of Rp. 4,000 through auto-debit system.
"The traders should be absent finger print at the location at least 20 times and will be given concessions by inheritance system, so the kiosk can only be transferred to their wife or children," he said.
Meanwhile, Lenggang Jakarta Management, Mei Batubara added, the Lenggang Jakarta operational will be same as food court except the payment that will only use non-cash.
"We will use EDC machine from Bank Mandiri for the payment system," he explained.
Mei uttered, the EDC machine will be given free to all vendors, and every payment will be directly added to their bank account.
