Early Fire Prevention and Handling Socialized in Selong Urban Village

As many as 50 staffs of Selong Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta together with local environment caretakers received socialization and education of fire handling and rescue.

South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda, said the participants received both theory and practice related to fire handling by using light extinguisher or firetruck.

Participants were also given first aid materials, as well as rescue quickly, correctly and appropriately in disaster conditions.

"Hopefully the residents can play a role and participate in helping the fire personnel if disaster occurs in their environment," he said, Wednesday (11/6).

Meanwhile, Selong Urban Village Head, Murniasih, explained the training was a collaboration with South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency.

"The training is important to improve the staffs and environmental caretakers knowledge and skills in carrying out early fire handling," she explained.

She hopes the activity is able to reduce the fire impact in Selong Urban Village.

"I also requested the participants to deliver the knowledge and skill to residents," she admitted.
