Teguh Inspects Senen Underpass Pump House and Dukuh Atas Tunnel

Jakarta Acting Governor, Teguh Setyabudi, inspected the Senen Underpass Pump House and Dukuh Atas Tunnel, Sunday (11/10).

We don't want the underpass to be flooded

According to him, it was done to ensure the condition of the pump houses in several underpasses which had problems due to theft and cable cutting by irresponsible individuals.

"We're still investigating the motive for the cable cutting in the pump house that occurred at Senen Underpass and several other locations almost simultaneously," he expressed.

He explained the perpetrator also cut the CCTV cables that were installed so that the theft was not monitored.

"This case causes problems when it rains and puddles occur, because the pumps in the underpass are not working. We have reported this problem to the authorities," he explained.

He added the Jakarta Government had made repairs at the location where the cable was cut, while also ensuring that the pump was functioning normally.

"We don't want the underpass to be flooded, because not only will there be congestion but other aspects could occur simultaneously," he added.

He also urged Jakarta residents and related regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to jointly monitor and maintain pump houses, so that this problem does not happen again.

"The City Secretary will hold a meeting to mitigate and take steps so that this does not happen again. At least, we can anticipate," he added.

As for the information, at the location, Acting Governor Teguh was accompanied by City Secretary, Marullah Matali; Development Assistant, Afan Afandi and Public Works Agency Head, Heru Suwondo; and several other related officials.
