Ahok : Students, Let's Dream High

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama did a review the implementation of national exam (UN) in the State Elementary School (SDN) 01, Menteng, Central Jakarta, which is an ex-school of US President, Barrack Obama.

I know students are enthusiastically doing the exam, moreover Mr. Obama had studied in this school before

Ahok accompanied by Jakarta Education Department Head, Arie Budhiman and Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede and arrived at 6.30 AM. In his speech, he hoped 56 sixth graders not to pass the exam.

Elementary Students Ready to Face National Exam, Agency Says

“I know students are enthusiastically doing the exam, moreover Mr. Obama had studied in this school before. I want the students do not just pass the exam but also having a dream to be a president. Become a governor is common thing,” he exclaimed.

He disclosed the student should have the honesty as track record if they wanted to be president. “The imaging is not really important in future but you must have the honesty first to correct yourself. Hence, I wish you all could become success person in Indonesia,” he stated.

He also gave motivation, students to remain study diligently and do not use any means. "Making friends is also important, instead of mischievous friends, be careful. My mother used to remind me that I have to select my friends who play to the house. It's okay if they are not too smart," he described.

After giving the speech, Ahok then welcomed students one by one and took some pictures. Afterwards, he immediately did another review in SDN Theresia, Central Jakarta.

As known, around 153,266 students of SD/Islamic Elementary School and on an equal all over Jakarta are participating in the national exam on May 18-20. Those are around 140,704 of SD students, 12,430 students of Islamic Elementary School, and 132 disabled students. Unlike Junior and High School, its exam using the computerized based test (CBT) is still using paper based test.

While for the tested subject is Indonesia language on May 18, Math on May 19, and science on May 20.
