Acting Governor Teguh Instructs Coastal Embankment Construction Acceleration

Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi said Jakarta Provincial Government tris to speed up the construction of coastal embankment to handle tidal flood. Now the construction is being continued with four kilometer left.

In order to get short time for water to recede, Teguh instructed the ranks to pay attention to the flow of water when it is flooded.

"Embankment construction acceleration in 2025 is aimed to overcome tidal flood," Teguh said, Monday (11/18), during his visit to tidal flood that hit Muara Angke, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, together with Jakarta Regional Secretary Marullah Matali.

As quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Teguh emphasized that various efforts are being provided to handle tidal flood by mapping flood locations. He also requested North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim and all Regional Apparatus Organizations to routinely monitor the condition.

"We had visited several areas along the coastal. We also discussed with RT and RW heads to get solution," Teguh added.

During his visit, Teguh also provided basic food assistance for residents affected by tidal flood.

As for information, tidal flood hit since Friday (15/11( at 9 AM and receded at 12 PM. But the water re-inundated the area again the next day at the same time.
