BPBD: Stay Alert on Tidal Flood for Coastal Residents

Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) appeals residents living on Jakarta coastal to stay alert on tidal flood on November 28-December 6, 2024.

Maximum sea tide is on 7 AM to 1 PM

Jakarta BPBD Implementer Head, Isnawa Adji said based on information from the BMKG Class I Maritime Meteorology Station Tanjung Priok regarding Coastal Flood Early Warning, The phenomenon of maximum sea tides coincides with the new moon phenomenon which has the potential to increase the height of maximum sea tides in the form of tidal flooding in the coastal areas of North Jakarta.

"Maximum sea tide is on 7 AM to 1 PM," said Isnawa, Thursday (11/28).

He added that residents living in Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru and Muara Angke are appealed to anticipate the impact of maximum sea tide that can cause tidal flood.

According to him, the residents are able to monitor latest condition related to sea tide through bpbd.jakarta.go.id/gelombanglaut.

"Please contact Call Center Jakarta Siaga 112 for an emergency," he stated.
