Council Appreciates Fallen Tree Quick Handling

Jakarta City Council's Commission D Legislator, Ghozi Zulazmi appreciates the quick response of Jakarta Provincial Government in handling fallen trees due to heavy rain and strong wind.

He said that Jakarta Provincial Government provided quick response through its Regional Disaster Handling Agency, City Park and Forestry Agency, and other regional working units.

He appealed related agency to do mitigation for trees prone to fall when extreme weather occurs in Jakarta. This is to anticipate incident that endangers public safety.
He added that City Park and Forestry Agency needs to continue maintenance of trees located in strategic areas and the arrangement of tree planting spaces.
"The monitoring runs by the agency is important to green Jakarta areas and anticipate incident that can endanger residents during extreme weather," he added.
Ghozi appeals the residents to be aware of the potential for trees to fall during strong winds and to be careful when driving during heavy rain or extreme weather.
Meanwhile, Jakarta City Council's Commission A Legislator, Muhammad Hasan Abdillah encourages Jakarta BPBD to collaborate with City Park and Forestry Agency running prone to fall tree mitigation. It can be done by pruning maintaining tree continually.
"It is important to be run since extreme weather still occurs up to end of December 2024 according to BMKG's prediction," he said.
Hasan also appeals resident to report if there are big or old trees that prone to fall to related agencies.
