11,864 Prone to Fall Trees in Central Jakarta Pruned

Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency has pruned 11,864 prone to fall trees spread in eight sub-districts during January up to December 2, 2024.

Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda said has instructed her side to intensify pruning and cutting for prone to fall trees in order to minimize impact of heavy rain with strong wind.
Council Appreciates Fallen Tree Quick HandlingMila stated that the heavy rain accompanied with strong wind on Monday (12/2) caused 26 trees broken and 18 trees fell with the most case in Kemayoran and Cempaka Putih Sub-districts.
"We are still monitoring prone to fall trees to minimize the impact," she said, Wednesday (12/4).
Mila explained that the fallen and splintered trees consisted of various types, including Banyan, Angsana, Bintaro, Petai Cina, Mango and Sukun trees.
Mila added that her side will provide insurance compensation for residents impacted by fallen tree. One of the requirements to get the compensation, the tree must be located and owned by Jakarta Provincial Government.
Meanwhile, Kemayoran Sub-district's City Park and Forestry Implementer Unit Head, there are nine fallen trees in his area due to heavy rain with strong wind on Monday (12/2) ago.
"Our personnel will intensify the pruning," he admitted.
