PPKUKM Agency Head, Elizabeth Ratu Rante Alo said the integrated supervision was held ahead of Christmas and New Year.
Ratu added that the supervisoon was not only targeting beverage and food products, packaging suitability, distribution permits and expiry dates, but also inspections of measuring instruments, scales and equipment (UTTP) related to scales.

Meanwhile, Jakarta BBPOM Head, Sofiani Chandrawati Anwar stated the momentum of religious holidays usually increases market supply and demand.

Since November, she added, her side keeps intensifying the food and beverage products supervision. The supervision targets supermarket, traditional market, distributor, and importer.
Regarding supervision held at Central Market PIK, Sofi confirmed that no hazardous food products were found due to exposure to substances such as formalin, rhodami and borax.
However, two products were found without distribution permits and expired, and one product had damaged packaging.
"The management was willing to remove the product from the display and ensure that it will not be sold and to be destroyed. For consumers, don't forget to check the packaging, label, distribution permit and product expiration date before buying," she stated.
