128 Personnel Handle Fire in Kebon Kosong

As many as 32 firetrucks with 128 personnel were deployed by Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency to extinguish fire at dense population area Jalan Kemayoran Gempol RT 07/05, Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran.

115 families with 345 people impacted by the incident

Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Asril Rizal said his side received the incident information at 12:25 PM and directly deployed personnel.

Fire Strikes Two-story House in Palmeriam

"Initial information stated the incident occurred on one of resident's houses who work as plastic collector," he said, Tuesday (12/10).

Asril stated the personnel arrived at 12:30 PM and the fire was already big.

"After being sprayed for two hours, the fire then was fully handled and entered cooling process at 3 PM," he stated.

Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Fire Handling and Rescue Operational Section Head, Ahmad Syaiful explained personnel had difficulty to extinguish the fire since there were many residents tried to save their goods.

The fire was difficult to control due to the large amount of flammable material and strong wind.

"Personnel are still spraying the area to avoid another fire potential. We're still collecting info and data related the fire cause and whether any victims or not. According to temporary data, there are 115 families with 345 people impacted by the incident," he stated.
