Food Supervision Held in South Jakarta Ahead of Christmas and New Year

South Jakarta Administration together with Jakarta Food and Drug Supervision Agency conducted food price and quality supervision ahead of Christmas and New Year.
Prices of chili and chicken are increasing
Today's food price and quality supervision was run on agricultural, fishery, and livestock products.

"Today's supervision was held at Pasar Minggu Market, Warung Buncit Market, Mayestik Market, and Naga Swalayan Jagakarsa," he said, after leading the supervision at Hero Terogong, Cilandak Barat Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, Thursday (12/19).
Munjirin explained 150 samples of agricultural livestock, fishery and processed products were tested in a mobile laboratory car.
"A fish sample containing formalin was found. Then we took preventive measures by tracing the food origin to avoid it to be sold by involving related parties," he explained.
He added that there was also strategic staple food prices monitoring at those markets.
"Prices of chili and chicken are increasing, but still normal," he added.
Meanwhile, Jakarta BBPOM Head, Sofiyani Chandrawati stated food supervision at the markets is a routine agenda ahead of religious holidays.
"It is the third supervision since November 2024 and will be held up to January 2025," she stated.
According to him, the supervision was run ranging from the food ingredients up to packaging.
"We will immediately remove from the display case to be destroyed if there is no distribution permit or it contains hazardous materials," she added.
