250 Joint Personnel in East Jakarta Ready to Guard Christmas and New Year

As many as 250 joint personnel or Army, Police, Garnisun, POM TNI, Transportation Sub-agency, Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Health Sub-agency and Satpol PP are prepared to secure Christmas and New Year in East Jakarta.

Flood alert posts are also prepared in all urban village, sub-district and mayor offices

East Jakarta Resort Police Chief, Nicholas Ary Lilipaly said supports from all stakeholder and community are needed to secure the environment during Christmas and New Year celebration.

"I hope all community are also ready to participate in securing our own area," he said, Friday (12/20).

He added that his side prepares 620 personnel accompanied by army and East Jakarta Administration apparatuses.

His side is focusing to guard several vital objects during Christmas and New Year's eve such as TMII, Old Shanghai City Cakung, and 232 churches spread in eight sub-districts.

"We prepare 100 personnel each for TMII and Old Shanghai. Then 20 personnel each accompanied by stakeholders for 13 churches included in vulnerable category," he added.

Acting East Jakarta Mayor, Iin Mutmainah admitted the personnel prepared must also anticipate flood and inundation. Based on the prediction, extreme weather to occur ahead of year ends.

"It means we're preparing personnel to guard the Christmas and New Year, anticipating disaster, and garbage after the New Year's Eve," she admitted.

During the Christmas' Eve, her side will conduct patrol together with three pillars to monitor churches. Then on New Year's Eve, personnel will focus at TMII and Old Shanghai City Cakung.

"Flood alert posts are also prepared in all urban village, sub-district and mayor offices," she stated.
