West Jakarta Water Resource (SDA) Sub-agency dredges mud on connecting channel in Basmol, precisely near railroad crossing, RT 09/06 Kembangan Utara Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-district.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti said the dredging is run along 375 meter with 200 cm width and 120 cm height.

"The dredging aims to smooth the water flow," she said, Monday (12/23).

Purwanti added personnel use manual tool to dredge the channel. The dredging has been running since December 1 and is targeted to complete end of month.

"Hopefully the channel will smoothly flow the water into Mookervart River and Basmol area will be free from inundation," she added.

Meanwhile, Teguh (58), one of local residents appreciated the dredging run by the sub-agency as part of anticipating inundation during rainy season.

"It is hoped the water will flow smoothly and free the area from inundation," he admitted.
